Hello October // Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists

Pottermore Presents #2 is hands down, no doubt about it, my favourite of the three releases. I can't say i've been super interested in the politics of the wizarding world but it was surprisingly fascinating to read about it. It also helped that I hadn't actually read any of this information on Pottermore before buying the ebook so it was all brand new content to me.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this one features a lot of Harry Potter's villains such as Professor Quirrell and *ahem* Umbridge. I honestly thought that by reading a little of their back stories I would begin to see how they may have gone so wrong but that didn't really happen! I'll leave it to you to decide whether Umbridge was rotten to the core or if she was simply misguided.....but i'm not too worried on the opinion ;)

There's information on good ol' Slughorn and how he really felt about that memory and of course, the title wouldn't do any justice if there wasn't some wonderfully lovely chatter on our favourite poltergeist of them all, Peeves.

However, what made this one stand out over the rest was the complete history of the Ministry for Magic. We learn about its conception, the various Ministers they had over the years (and what they did or didn't achieve whilst in office), how long they held their position etc. It was SO MUCH FUN to read! Leading on from that we learn a lot more about Azkaban and how it came to be. More interesting for me though, was what happened to Azkaban after the Battle of Hogwarts. A real eyeopener.

So again, great and quick read and i'll definitely be reading this one again!
